In Los Angeles, Jay Kvapil is included in a group exhibition of ceramics, Aesthetics of Everyday Objects: The Cup at ATLA in Echo Park. Curated by Jenny Hata Blumenfield, this exhibition will be on view through February 10, 2024.
Aesthetics of Everyday Objects: The Cup draws inspiration from Betty Asher's (1914-1994) collection of sculptural teacups, many of which now live within LACMA's permanent collection. More than 50 years later, ATLA brings together 39 contemporary painters, mixed-media sculptors, designers and ceramicists for this occasion.
A catalogue with text by Andres Payan will accompany this exhibition.
